Recipe of the Week: Turkey Cilantro Burgers With Tomato Sauce on Mixed Greens

Looking for a great, healthy twist on a summertime classic?  Then our Turkey Cilantro Burger is a surefire win!  Packed with nutritious ingredients and a ton of flavor, these burgers will be an instant favorite.

Serves 4

Burger Ingredients:

1 lb ground lean turkey

1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1/4 to 1/2 clove minced garlic or 1/4 – 1/2 tspn garlic powder

1/2 tsp coarse sea salt

Pinch freshly ground black pepper

Combine above ingredients. Divide into four parts and form into meatballs, packing well. Prepare pan with 1 tablespoon avocado oil. Over medium heat, cook burgers until evenly browned on each side.

Remove from pan onto warming plate or

slightly warmed oven. Immediately prepare tomato sauce in same pan:

Fresh Tomato & Garlic Sauce Ingredients:

6 small or 3 medium tomatoes, diced

1/4 clove minced garlic or 1/4 – 1/2 tsp garlic powder

6 fresh basil leaves, cut into thin ribbons

Pinch coarse sea salt

Add 2 tspns extra virgin olive oil to seasoned pan.

Add garlic and tomatoes, cooking down and stirring until tomatoes liquify.

Add basil, pinch of sea salt.

Salad Ingredients:

Mixed greens (sugg: kale, chard, arugula, spinach, romaine)

Microgreens or Sprouts

Pepitas

Sliced fruit, berries, avocado for garnish.

Dressing Ingredients: EVOO, Lemon Juice, Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar

Plate: Arrange greens and fruit on plate. Drizzle greens

with a moderate amount of EVOO, lemon

juice and a light drizzle of ACV. Place warm burger

on top of greens. Pour tomato sauce over meat.

Garnish with microgreens and pepitas or sunflower seeds.
